Our Therapists Dublin, CA
Mackenzie Sodestrom, LMFT
You don’t want a therapist that just nods & “mhmms” while you talk. You want someone that really gets you, gives concrete feedback, and helps you make the changes you want to see.
Mackenzie Sodestrom, LMFT (#110319) is a little sassy, use a lot of humor, and will inevitably swear in sessions. Consider me your fellow journeyer, hope holder, and joy discoverer. I believe that if we’re successful, I’ll eventually work myself out of a job. That means our therapy sessions keep our initial goals in mind, and we’ll check in on our progress together to get you closer to the life you want.
I pair insight with practical tools, offering both compassion & straightforward feedback. We’ll laugh together quite a bit along the way. I’m a big believer in finding ways to reclaim joy in your daily life, and we’ll do the same in our therapy together.
I use a variety of evidence-based approaches to help my clients make change in their life. I teach practical, effective tools that help you better manage your feelings & relationships outside of sessions. I love using Internal Family System (parts work) to instill deeper self-compassion and gently create change from stubbornly held patterns. I utilize EMDR to heal the ways past traumatic experiences interrupt your life now.
Gentry Vest, Ph.D. Candidate, Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist
You’re not looking for fluff — you want tools that actually work. You’re used to handling a lot and doing it well, but lately the stress and anxiety have been creeping in and starting to take over. You might feel a little unsure about starting therapy (totally normal), and you want someone who won’t rush you but will help you make real progress.
Gentry Vest, AMFT (#124539) works with teens and young adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck in self-doubt, or caught in the grind of perfectionism. My approach is down-to-earth, supportive, with a mix of practical strategies, and yes — some humor. Therapy is an investment in yourself, and I’m with you every step of the way.
Once things start to feel more manageable, we can explore where all that pressure and that loud inner critic came from — and what life could look like with less of both.
I love working with high-achieving teens, college students, and young adults navigating transitions, anxiety, and relationship challenges. I see clients in our Dublin office or online, serving the Tri-Valley area including Danville, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Dublin, and beyond.
Gentry is supervised by Mackenzie Sodestrom, LMFT.
